I spent a little time today cleaning up a few rough edges on my free ASP.NET Web Site configuration tool, which can be used to create a virtual directory on a site quickly, setting the appropriate permissions and optionally configure a VS.NET 1.1 solution file as well as MSDE configuration.
All options can be site prior to shipping the application, which are then used as defaults, and the various operations can be turned on or off in the configuration file. It’s a great tool to ship with an ASP.NET application to let users run to configure a sample application to set up on their local or full Web Server with just a few clicks.

I fixed a couple of minor bugs in this release and added support for setting the ASP.NET version on the virtual, which means you can now do hands off configuration. With .NET 2.0 coming soon this is getting to be more important and I found myself always configuring this option manually. Well, no more ...
I use this thing a lot and send it out with all the demos I publish, and it makes the install notes nice and easy – just run this and off you go.
