Microsoft has released the Visual Studio Web Deployment Projects that I’ve mentioned several times here in the last couple of months (tool info and some of the issues: here and here) . Well, it’s here and it looks impressive in that it addresses the core set of deployment issues.
Because I’m traveling I haven’t had a lot of time to look at it closely and try it out on my live site, but from setting up the deploy project and building in a few configurations it looks very promising.
Check it out and be sure to take a look at the white papers that go with the tool as they are pretty in depth. Scott also blogged a bit about this over the last few weeks, so there’s a lot of info available. I’ll have more impressions once I get back home and can do some live deployments.
