Another wwHoverPanel Control update

:P
On this page:

I've posted another update to the wwHoverPanel ASP.NET control over the weekend that addresses some of the display quirks when adjusting the window position due to scroll off. There have also been a few minor tweaks with the JSON de-Serialization routines reading inbound JSON objects on the server.

Thanks for the many comments and feedback that have helped clean up some of these small issues. Much appreciated!

Rick,

Thanks again for another quick update. I think the chm file is corrupted in the latest release, though. I keep showing an "Action Cancelled" error.

Online help works. I'll use that for now.

Paul, it probably means you're opening the help file from the network see:

Cool. Thanks for the link. It works now.

Warning. Rant in 3.. 2.. 1...

Arghhh! I hate it when my [insert arrogant software package here] decides what is best for me without asking. I understand safety is prudent, but at least not make me hunt down some esoteric dialog, or worse, some obscure registry key that has to be added before it can be set. Consistency would be nice, too.

Anyway, the file was local, but I had to right click and select unblock from the properties dialog.

FWIW, I think I may hoave found a bug/feature in Microsoft's Extraction Wizard. If you right click on a zip file, and select "Extract all...", you will have this issue with blocked files. However, if you double click on the zip file, then drag the contents of the zip file to your target directory, you do not run into thease blocking issues at all.

Man, what a pain. I know this isn't your problem, Rick, but thanks for the soapbox nonetheless.

Rick, thanks for the updates. Now all is well with all of my pages in FF, IE, and Opera.

It took a while to get Vista actually installed on a second machine but now that I have it running here are a few first subjective impressions <g>.

# Problems with opening CHM Help files from Network or Internet - Rick Strahl's Web Log

Opening CHM files from a non-local location is no longer supported. Conveniently there's no decent error information displayed for this error so your first thought goes that there's something wrong with your help file. Here's an overview of the issue and some solutions on how to deal with it.
